What we machine and repair

Our general engineering division handles the components that keep plant and vehicles running — the ones that are too expensive to replace and too specialised to source quickly.

Work we take on every week includes:

• Bearing housings — re-machining, sleeving and restoration to original tolerance
• Vacuum pumps — stripping, machining and reassembly
• Flywheels — skimming, resurfacing and ring gear replacement
• Pulleys and sheaves — repair, re-machining and manufacture
• Axles and shafts — straightening, machining and build-up
• Pitman screws — repair and remanufacture
• Press ram blocks and press frames — machining, reconditioning and crack repair
• Housings, covers and brackets — repair of cracked, worn or damaged castings

Machining capability

Our shop is equipped for both one-off repair work and repeat manufacturing runs:

• CNC machining — guaranteed accuracy, repeatable across batch runs
• Lathe turning — from small precision components to large shafts
• Milling — conventional and CNC
• Grinding and polishing — including crankshaft and camshaft work
• Boring and honing
• Re-sleeving — restoring worn bores to original specification

Repair or remanufacture — whichever costs you less

Most workshops will quote you a replacement. We’ll tell you honestly whether repair makes better commercial sense.

Where a component is repairable, reconditioning is almost always faster and cheaper than sourcing a replacement — particularly for obsolete parts, imported equipment, or anything with a long lead time. Where a part genuinely can’t be saved, we manufacture a new one to the original specification.

That decision is yours. Our job is to give you the information to make it.
